Raw Food Restaurant in Tokyo “Rainbow” ❤ レインボー・ローフード

How are you? I hope you are fine and raw food makes you happy and healthy! Today I want to share with you our second video from our project “Raw Food Restaurants in Tokyo”. We are planning (me and my friends) to visit all raw food restaurans, juice bars and other healthy shops and markets in Tokyo and near Tokyo. We want to show you what we have here in Tokyo and how we can live and enjoy our raw vegan life here in Japan 🙂

This video we made at the “Rainbow Raw Food” restaurant, which is near Ebisu station. They moved to Ebisu around month ago, its a very popular place for vegans and foreigners. This place is also popular becouse one japanese fortune teller works there (you can find him in this video behind our table) :))  Rainbow has english menu and also english website: rainbowrawfood.com  I think this restaurant is very simple and cheaper than others. There is a nice Hawaii design and music. You can find a lot of nice books about healthy lifestyle here (english and japanese). Also you can buy raw chia seeds. Menu is very simple, so if you are a raw vegan with long experience and interesting in raw gourmet food, maybe you will not very exiting, but anyway its so nice to have a chance to enjoy with living food and your friends outside sometimes ; )

How To Live Long? Japanese Happy Healthy Long Life Secrets ❤ 100歳まで生きたいですか?

I want to share our gladness, this month we had a Birthday party of our grandmother, 90 years old! She is so healthy and looks amazing for her age. She can speak, hear, walk, eat, meet with friends, go out for walk, go to museums and shopping. What a secret she has to be so healthy in her 90s? She is able to walk, eat, hear, speak and go for shopping with friends. Well, she didn’t use any cosmetic, no sport, no big sickness, worked hard all her life from 15 y.o.! She had happy, but not easy life with stress and drama. Her secret is not only a food, but also her a very positive thinking, she always smile and laugh a lot. You can easy to see how nice person she is in this short interview I took at the party. Sorry, this video is not about raw food at all, but its about Japanese traditional food, which was destroyed after World War 2. So she is one of those long life Japanese people, who was born before war and didn’t eat any bad and junk food. Raw Food Restaurant in Tokyo “Raw Wednesday” ❤ ローフードカフェ「Raw Wednesday」

From this month (February 2014) we started a new project! We want to visit all raw food restaurants and other ealthy places in Tokyo. There are some juice bars, vegan shopes and organic markets, farms etc.  And we made a first video already! Me with my japanese friend Nodoka visited my favourite restaurant near Omotesando station, “Raw Wednesday”. Well I can see some mistakes already in this video…I would like to hear from you my friend, what you want to see, to ask and find in Tokyo, some ideas, comments etc? Raw Food Parenting Important Q&A From The Raw Food Family (Interview with Ka Sundance)

As you maybe already know, I am a mother of 4 years old son and I am a raw food mommy for more than 2 years now. Also I work with small kids and their mothers in Tokyo. I have two classes every month. One is for kids; I named it «Raw-Yummy-Tummy» and one for mothers «Raw-Yummy-Mommy». This is a big pleasure to work with small kids and I believe that raw food diet is the healthiest diet for small children.

If you are parent and interesting in raw food diet, probably you are already searching for some very important answers about vitamin B12, calcium, breast feeding and others. I had same questions when I started my raw food life and I know how difficult to find correct and right answers. So I decided to ask these important questions for you to my good friend and my teacher, Ka Sundance, of the Raw Food Family. He generously accepted this interview from his current family outpost in Costa Rica. The Raw Food Family is raising five raw kids and lives on a healthy, natural mostly raw diet since more than 10 years. They teach families about healthy nutrition for children, and publish frequently to their youtube channel. They eat mostly locally grown, organic food, and also fresh tropical fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, roots and other natural non-processed superfoods while traveling and living for extended periods in places like Thailand, Bali, Costa Rica.

Raw Till 4 – My Dairy

Raw till 4 – means eating raw food (specifically fruit) until 4pm in the day then having a high carb cooked plant foods dinner. This is a program for transition to raw diet. グリーンスムージーの作り方・飲み方のガイドラインを話しました。V. Boutenkoの本をしょうかいしまして、グリーンスムージーを飲んでみました。グリーンスムージーを考案して以来、私自身毎日飲み続けているだけでなく、たくさんの人にお勧めしてきました。自分の命が尽きる最後の日まで、グリーンスムージーを飲み続けたいと思っています。私の家族全員そして、たくさんの友人たちもグリーンスムージーが大好きです。

  • 毎日朝一番に、その日に飲む量のグリーンスムージーを作りましょう。
    1日1~2リットルが最適。朝飲む分をたっぷりとグラスに注いだら、残りは冷蔵庫またはどこか涼しい場所に保管すること。
  • グリーンスムージーは、ゆっくりと唾液と混ぜ合わせるようにして飲みましょう。
    蓋付きの容器に入れて職場に持っていけば、こぼす心配もなく、他人に何を飲んでいるか詮索されることもありません。
  • グリーンスムージーには、グリーン、フルーツと水以外は入れないこと。
    ナッツ、種子、油分、サプリメントなど、他の材料をグリーンスムージーに入れることはお勧めしません。これらを加えることで、消化管の中での吸収が遅れ、 何らかの刺激やガスを発生させる可能性があるからです。本の中では、基本の材料以外のものを加えたレシピもいくつか紹介していますが、 日常的に摂取するスムージーは、基本(フルーツとグリーンだけ)に忠実に。
  • グリーンスムージーは、食事と一緒ではなく単体で飲むこと。
    ほんの小さなクラッカーやあめ玉でさえも一緒には食べないでください。 スムージーを飲む前後に40分程度あければ、何を食べても大丈夫です。グリーンスムージーから、最大限の栄養を摂取するためです。
  • にんじん、ビーツ、ブロッコリーの茎、ズッキーニ、カリフラワー、キャベツ、芽キャベツ、ナス、カボチャ、オクラ、さやエンドウ、トウモロコシ、 緑豆やその他のでんぷん質の野菜をグリーンスムージーに加えないこと。
    でんぷん質の野菜はフルーツとの食べ合わせが悪く、腸内でガスが発生しやすくなります。
  • ひとつのスムージーに、たくさんの材料を入れすぎないこと。
    例えば、9種類のフルーツと12種類のグリーンは多すぎます。 植物の栄養価を最大限に取り入れるため、そして消化器官に負担をかけないように、レシピはなるべくシンプルに。
  • 次に飲むスムージーが常に楽しみに思えるような、おいしいスムージー作りの達人になりましょう。おいしくないと、そのうち飲まなくなってしまいます。
  • スムージーに入れるグリーンはいつも同じものではなく、ローテーションで様々な種類を摂取しましょう。
    世界中のほとんどのグリーンには、微量のアルカロイド(窒素を含むアルカリ性の有機化合物)が含まれています。 少量のアルカロイドは人体に有害というほどのものではなく、むしろ免疫系を強化する効果があります。 しかし、ケールやほうれん草、その他なんでも一種類のグリーンだけを毎日食べ続けると、一種類のアルカロイドが体内に蓄積されて、 何かしらの中毒症状を引き起こす可能性があります。
    一方、フルーツはいつも種類を変える必要はありません。一般的に、フルーツはアルカロイドをほとんど含まないため、 グリーンのような中毒反応を起こす心配はないからです。ただし、使用するフルーツを変えることで味と摂取する栄養素の幅が広がります。
  • 可能な限りオーガニック栽培の農産物を選びましょう。
    農薬などの有毒化学物質が含まれていないからというだけでなく、慣行栽培の農産物に比べてオーガニック栽培のものは遥かに栄養価が高いからです。 ほとんどの現代人は、栄養が不足しています。体に栄養を与えるためには、できる限りオーガニックで地元産の野菜やフルーツを摂取しましょう。 木の上で熟されたフルーツはそうでないものと比較して栄養価が何倍も高く、収穫直後に最も多くの栄養素を含みます。

Raw Hemp Seeds Milk Unshelled (Video Recipe)

hemp-seeds-milkI could not find raw hemp seeds in Japan for long time until my cockatoo Lola came to our home (read my story how I found a raw hemp seeds in Japan). Finally,  I bought 3 kg of raw unshelled whole hemp seeds!  Its a long process to shell hemp seeds at home, so I prefer to make hemp milk!  For some of you, hemp milk might be a rather out there concept but I can assure you, it tastes great and is so simple to make. You can make it with either unshelled or shelled hemp seeds, the difference is that you will need to soak the unshelled seeds for 2-3 hours. You may find a stronger taste with the unshelled whole seeds. It’s a great source of protein and contains essential minerals and amino acids. Continue reading

How I found hemp seeds in Japan?

Not many people know that Hemp seeds have been used as a source of food throughout Asia and parts of Russia for generations. People grew up hemp in their fields and used as oatmeal, made oil and butter. In Russia, hemp butter was used as a condiment by the peasants. People made hemp milk for kids for generations. Unfortunately, people forgot about hemp benefits our day. Hemp was Russia’s primary trade crop in the 18th and 19th centuries. Soviet Union was the biggest exporter of hemp in the world until 1961, when they joined convention against hemp.

Side Effects Of Raw Food Diet

153555513This month is my Raw Food Birthday, two years. I don’t believe that already two full years i am on raw food diet. During this period, i accustomed to that, to my new food, and people surrounding me have already adjusted to me, took my style of life. For me it was difficult not physically, but morally, when nobody cant understand you, no support, condemn. A little bit has changed the direction of the current from the common crowd, different way of thinking than others and people immediately recognized you as strange, other, abnormal, this remind me nice small book “Jonathan Livingston Seagull”, written by Richard Bach. New Jonathans are coming every day, year by year, more and more! But I am not surprised, because a new era had dawned, the era of Aquarius. Continue reading
